Strong gusty winds of up to 117km/hr reached our network this afternoon. There was a lot of debris carried in those winds which have caused outages impacting approximately 60,000 customers. It will be some time before we get through restoring the power to everyone and regrettably, some customers will be without power overnight.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and recommend customers make alternative arrangements while we work through the restorations. Our life support customers should implement their power contingency plans.
